Article 224. Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Rural Municipal Assembly and Municipal
Assembly: The Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of a Rural Municipal Executive and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of a Municipal Executive shall ipso facto be the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Rural Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Assembly, respectively, and perform functions as such.
Article 225. Term of Rural Municipal Assembly and Municipal Assembly
The term of a Rural Municipal Assembly and of a Municipal Assembly shall be five years from the date of election. Election to another Rural Municipal Assembly and Municipal Assembly shall be completed within six months of the expiration of such term.
Article 226. Powers to Make Law
- (1)A Rural Municipal Assembly and Municipal Assembly may make necessary laws on the matters enumerated in the lists contained in Schedule-8 and Schedule-9.
- (2)The process for making laws referred to in clause (1) shall be as provided for in a provincial law.
Article 227. Other Matters relating to Rural Municipal Assembly and Municipal Assembly
Other matters relating to the conduct of business of a Rural Municipal Assembly and Municipal Assembly, rules of procedures of meetings, formation of committees, conditions in which the office of member falls vacant, facilities to be entitled to members of the Rural Municipal Assembly and Municipal Assembly and employees and offices of the Rural Municipality and Municipality, as the case may be, shall be as provided for in a provincial law.
